“” The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West constituency, Benjamin Kofi Ayeh has said he is not surprised by his defeat in the party’s parliamentary primaries.
Nsonwah is also the current Presiding Member for the Upper Denkyira West District Assembly in the Central Region.
Speaking to richghana news Benjamin Ayeh conceded defeat and asked the NPP to devise measures put measures secure more seats for the party in the 2016 elections
“I wasn’t very surprised so for someone to win, that should be normal.Clearly they have spoken and we should go by it but I believe the political parties can themselves decide on how to get the needed MPs in the chamber.”
A total number of 335 delegates out of 337 voted in the constituency.
The constituency formed part of the 30 other constituencies which could not vote in the NPP’s June 13 primaries.
This was due to some outstanding issues over the qualification of the candidates who were contesting in those constituencies.
However, only 9 constituencies out of the 30 were cleared to hold their primaries on Saturday. “”
